CIMET Graduation ceremony, 13th of September 2011, University Jean Monnet, Saint-Etienne, France.

Many congratulations to the students of the second CIMET cohort 2009-2011, who graduated on the 13th of September 2011 in Saint-Etienne.

A ceremony and cocktail was held in the honour of the second cohort and students of the new cohort 2011-2013, professors, university officials, partner university members, administrative staff, MPs and local press were also there to witness their graduation.

The ceremony started with a speech of thanks and a presentation from Alain Trémeau, Coordinator of the Master. This was followed by speeches of congratulations and welcome by Agnes Morini and Serge Riffard, both Vice-Presidents of the University who represented the President. Alain Trouillet, Director of the Faculty of Science, also addressed his congratulations and welcome to the new students.

Representatives of the three partner universities were present (UEF, UGR and GUC) and awarded their Diplomas.  Javier Hernandez Andres from University for Granada in Spain made a colourful speech and highlighted the immense human and cultural experience that students gained or will discover with CIMET.

CIMET Alumni, now in job position or PhDs also contributed to the ceremony. Rahat Khan, PhD student at UJM stressed the benefits of the CIMET community and we will remember the expression he used: “in the name of CIMET” which describes very well the strong bond established between all members of the CIMET community (students, professors and administrative staff).

Finally, Timo Eckhard from the graduating cohort, represented his fellow graduates and performed a presentation that the whole audience appreciated.

Students then received their diplomas and we ended up the celebration with a cocktail in a particularly international atmosphere.

Special congratulations from the CIMET Consortium to the top 3 students in the cohort, Basura FERNANDO from Sri Lanka, Vineet GANDHI from India and Timo ECKHARD from Germany and also to Samra TANOVIC from Bosnia and Herzegovina, first girl on the ranking list and in 4th position.
