
The CIMET Consortium welcomes Markku Hauta-Kasari as the new Academic coordinator of CIMET at University of Eastern Finland.
Markku Hauta-Kasari obtained his Ph.D. degree in information processing from the Lappeenranta University of Technology, Finland, in 1999. Since 1999 he has been working in research and teaching positions at the School of Computing, University of Eastern Finland. He is Research Director and Professor in SIB-labs unit at the University that is implementing industrial cooperation and applied research projects in the field of spectral color research, photonics, and material science.
Teaching experience: He has been lecturing courses on computer science, supervising practical works and practical sessions. In CIMET, group project and special course on color science belongs to his responsibility. He is academic coordinator of CIMET at UEF.
Research topics: His research interest include spectral color research, pattern recognition and computer vision. At the moment he is leading several applied research projects in the field of spectral color research that have other partners from other research organizations and from industry.
